The new D´VINO exhibition space, located at Carrer Filarmónica, 2 in Altea, is honored to present the painting exhibition “Ecos de Luz” (Echoes of Light) by the young artist Tomás Salazar Suaza.
Tomás began by painting landscapes and figurative works, exploring color and composition, later moving toward symbolic abstraction with architectural references while utilizing various acrylic techniques with intense palettes. In these early works, the young painter addresses inner emotional drama, as well as existential passions and contradictions, through pictorial experimentation with shadows and depths.
In the transition toward personal and artistic maturity, a new purpose of dialogue between light and shadow emerges in Tomás, whose transcendence invites contemplative reflection. In this new pictorial stage, the clarity of color and the gestural stroke stand out with great intensity and fluidity. The conflicts and tensions of past shadows now transform into a new energy of illumination and dynamism through the movement of the palette knife. On the blank canvas, grooves, textures, and overlapping layers interact, creating a choreography of emotions.
In Tomás's words: “'Ecos de Luz' is a bridge between who I was and who I am called to be. It is the acceptance that my darkness and my light are parts of a whole that I can now contemplate with greater clarity. This transition marks not only my evolution as an artist, but also as a person, and it is my way of inviting those who view my work to reflect on their own transitions, to find their own echoes of light.”
